Hoodia Gordonni And Oprah Winfrey

Hoodia has been connected with many a celebrity over the last decade - none moreso than American chat show queen Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah’s connection with Hoodia Gordonii diet pills was formed in the summer of 2005,

In July of 2005 Oprah's article in her “O” Magazine swept her readers, and soon the whole nation, into a Hoodia craze. Entitled “Diet Pills, The Next Generation”, the article mentioned the effects of the potent hoodia plant in her diet pill review citing it's effects as an appetite suppressant.

While there is no brand of hoodia endorsed by Oprah or her organization Harpo, her article sent shock waves throughout the country about the potential inside this tiny South African cactiform. Starting with the readers of O Magazine, the excitement over Hoodia soon spread to several other news outlets and television shows.
